P.S

I was going to write these in yesterday but forgot. Here are some random things I have learned regarding pregnancy and motherhood. These are all my opinion and only relate to my experience = this is not meant for diagnosing and if you have any real problems, go to your Doctor

* If your baby is born healthy, it was all worth it
* The day your first child comes into this world, a mother is born
* A husband can stay awake during your entire labor. YOU just spent 9 months pregnant and YOU still have to stay awake
* Anything you don't enjoy about pregnancy or any post-partum complaints you have are all legit. And just the unfortunate side of being a mother
* The rewards far outweigh the negatives
* If a nurse isn't gentle enough with you right after you've had your baby, you can tell her so
* If you don't want to look during birth - don't. What's beautiful to some may not bring tears to your eyes and might make you sick instead
* If the nurse says your uterus is going down, you don't have to push your own stomach down to verify. Did you know what your uterus felt like before?
* Nursing angry babies hurts
* When people come to visit you they should be grateful if you've had a shower - clean anything else is optional
* Harris said it best when he told me he will do whatever he can for me since I do whatever I can for the baby. This includes needing a drink of orange juice at 1:30am to wanting an entire case of bottled water
* Sometimes babies just need a good cry
* Sometimes mothers just need a good cry
* Sleep when your baby sleeps
* If your mothering instinct is telling you no then the answer is NO. It doesn't matter who's telling you yes (whether this be mothers-in-law, Dr's or friends). It's YOUR baby
* Think of the hardest thing you've done...now multiply it by ten and that's the intensity of 9 months of pregnancy, 26 hours of labor, 3 hours of pushing and 7 lbs 1 oz of the most beautiful thing created.

I can't guarantee that all of these will apply to you (hopefully a few won't) but just know that if you expect everything to be hard work you won't be disappointed. But you can't imagine the joy you will experience in being a mother. It is a blessing, I promise.
